The Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) is the world’s largest product data network.     In a master data pool, the manufacturer only needs to record the product information digitally in a central database once. All the connected retailers and service providers are then automatically provided with the article master data using a push procedure.

    GS1-certified Swiss data pool

    GloLIB is connected to all the other GS1-certified data pools and with the GS1 Global Registry. As the central table of contents, the registry notes which article is managed in which pool. This enables global data exchange across more than one data pool. With its high quality and reliability requirements, as well as the common standard, the certification ensures secure and prompt distribution of the article data. 

    Top quality data

    All the GDSN data pools fulfil the same standards. Several hundred validation rules safeguard the data’s quality, prior to it being forwarded from the supplier to the recipient. For example, GloLIB checks mandatory fields such as GTIN, brand name, gross weight or packaging units, as well as attributes that are specific for the target market. The «Trusted Source of Data» approach ensures consistent use of the article master data from suppliers right through to users of smartphone apps.

Originating from a United Nations initiative, it is the most widely used independent and acknowledged network with the aim of linking trading and industrial companies around the world via their local data pools.

    Advantages of GloLIB

    • Administration of the data
      In the GDSN environment, GloLIB manages the article publications made by data suppliers and the article subscriptions of data receivers. Outside the GDSN environment, the article data is checked, processed and transmitted in accordance with the requirements of the respective data recipient.
    • Data backups
      All GloLIB article master data is saved on multiple secure servers in our data centre for at least ten years. In the event of a total failure of your local infrastructure (ERP software, PIM, server infrastructure, etc.), your product data remains safe and can be made available to you again as required.
    • Sector-independent
      With GloLIB, article data can be exchanged with GDSN data pools, data pool service providers or directly with data suppliers and data recipients, regardless of the industry sector and the standard that is used.
